Senior Database Administrator (DBA)

At Yuno, we are building the payment infrastructure that helps companies grow across Latin America and beyond. We are looking for a Senior Database Administrator to join our Engineering team and take ownership of the reliability, performance, and scalability of our database systems. This is a senior, remote role for someone who thrives on solving complex data infrastructure challenges and wants to make a direct impact on a fast-growing payments platform. You will work closely with our current DBA and Engineering leadership, helping to strengthen our database operations and after-hours deployment support coverage. We are looking for someone based in a timezone that complements our Bogota-based team (for example, Mexico or Europe), and who is fluent in both English and Spanish. What you will do: Own the performance, availability, and scalability of our production database systems (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB) Design, implement, and maintain backup, replication, and disaster recovery strategies Lead database deployments, migrations, and schema changes with minimal downtime Provide after-hours and on-call support for critical deployments, sharing coverage with the rest of the team Monitor database health and proactively resolve performance bottlenecks Partner with Engineering to design scalable data architectures for new features Establish and enforce best practices for security, access control, and data governance Document database processes and mentor other engineers on database best practices What you will bring: 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator or similar senior data infrastructure role Strong hands-on expertise with PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB in production environments Solid experience with backup and disaster recovery strategies, replication, and high-availability setups Experience supporting production deployments, including after-hours or on-call rotations Comfortable working independently in a remote, distributed team spanning multiple time
